Visual Storytelling:
Conceptualization and Composition
Freeze-frame a vibrant moment in your life. Now, add all the Hollywood special effects you want. What does it look like? Want to do a casting call? Cast yourself in the lead role or let someone else play you--you are the hero; this is your story. In this workshop, you will conceptualize, compose and paint a picture that tells a story starring you. For imagery, you will delve into the realm of your strengths, utilizing your greatest and weakest strengths as inspiration. Then, step-by-step, you will use tone, colors, framing and movement to compose an image that visually captures the concepts and genre you have chosen to express.
It's all about the drama, Baby.
To prepare for this workshop, please fill out the worksheet which will be sent to after registration has been completed. The worksheet has a set of questions for you to answer to help with the conceptualisation of your piece.
You also have the assignment of developing your "Hollywood Me" story that you are prepared to share with the group. With these steps taken in advance, we are able to maximise the time we have together in front of the easel, for the creation of your work.
